TECHNICAL WRITER

Minimum Education and Experience: Bachelor s degree required, preferably in English, Journalism, Communications, or other related field. Strong writing/editing skills, with a minimum of 3 years experience.

Functional Responsibilities: Write, rewrite, and edit lengthy and complex documents of a technical or semi-technical nature so that the material is clear and useful to a variety of audiences. Managing and coordinating team projects that have competing demands and rigorous deadlines. Determine the most effective methods for presentation of ideas, such as text, illustrations, photographs, tables, graphs, charts, or other illustrative materials. Evaluate the logic and organization of manuscripts that present analytical information, and in communicating the results of such evaluations to authors as guidance for revisions. Managing the production of lengthy documents under tight deadlines through writing, editing, review, and printing. Work independently with a minimum of direction or oversight. Communicate effectively in order to establish effective working relationships with top management, senior technical staff, administrative staff, and others. Knowledge of operating PCs and PC-based word processing, desktop publishing, and graphics software, especially MS Word in a Windows environment.
